Power Quality Engineer
We're looking for a Power Quality Engineer to help ensure the integrity and performance of our electricity distribution network. This is a dynamic and impactful role where you'll blend technical expertise with customer engagement to resolve network quality issues, support distributed energy integration, and deliver smart solutions that keep our network strong and future-ready.
You'll lead both proactive and reactive investigations into power quality challenges, provide specialist technical advice, and collaborate across internal teams and external partners to maintain high standards of supply for our customers.

The role
- Lead investigations into power quality issues and driving practical, customer-centric solutions
- Prepare power quality assessments, setting harmonic emission limits, and producing technical reports
- Support new customer connections and distributed energy resource (DER) applications
- Act as a technical consultant and trusted advisor for internal teams and external stakeholders
- Collaborate across the business to maintain regulatory compliance and network safety
- Contribute to future-focused initiatives involving renewable and alternative energy integration
About you
- Extensive experience in a similar environment with a Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- In-depth understanding of power quality, harmonic analysis, and electrical distribution networks
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex electrical engineering systems at customer facilities and our distribution system
- Strong personal leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others
- A customer-first mindset with a collaborative and solutions-oriented approach
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an analytical mindset
- Knowledge of the NZ regulatory environment, particularly the Electricity Authority Code & Compliance
