Operations Technical Writer

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on detail and knows how to ask the right questions to get things right. You'll own the document lifecycle—from creation through to delivery—ensuring our materials are up-to-date, accurate, and easy to follow. The role
- Develop, refine and maintain technical documents ensuring procedures, standards and network rules are accurate and clear
- Work closely with SME, engineers, network controllers and the control room to source, validate and clarify technical content
- Prepare supporting materials and lead briefing sessions to ensure documentation is understood and effectively used across the business
- Align documentation with legislation, industry codes to comply with operational and regulatory compliance
About you
- Previous experience in a technical writing role where your understanding of NZ's electricity distribution or transmission sector is essential
- Be comfortable working with control room processes, permit systems and GE ADMS and SCADA
- Able to dig deep into technical subjects and collaborate effectively with SME's to capture accurate information
- Skilled in delivering briefings, preparing and presenting training to diverse audiences
- An engaging, self-directed and pro-active approach
